Midnight Cookies

I don't know that I'll make it to midnight. I'm more of a morning person than a night owl.

I am really bad with numbers and letters. It also doesn't help that I was too lazy to run downstairs and grab a smaller icing tip.

New Years Toast Cookies

Snow Scene Cookies

I really like how these turned out. Was going for something similar to my New Year's skyline cookies. Loving my cute platter too!

CandyCane Cookies

I like how these turned out, but I dropped a couple while decorating them.

Santa's Boots Cookies

I am a little bored with the cookie cutters I have this year so I'm going to buy some new ones for next year. 

Christma Tree Cookies

Wanted to try out a simple tree design this year.

Starflake Cookies

I shouldn't have photographed these on a silver platter as it really washed out the color, but I'm too lazy to photo them again.

Christmas Mittens

My sister wanted me to help her out with the royal icing so she could see the consistency I use and what I consider my 15 seconds before the drag in the icing closes. I hope she got it because I feel really unclear after showing her lol. I just know it works for me.

These are the few that Mindy thought were rejects. Poor little mittens. Sure were tasty.

Leaves

I have been so excited to use these cutters and to make marbled dough!

I separated the dough and colored each part. I then took small amounts of each color and made a larger marbled ball. I worked a portion of the dough at a time as the colors get more and more mixed each time you reform your ball.

I love how the cookies turned out without the frosting and will have to make some other cookies this way that I can leave unfrosted.

I'm not sure if owls are Thanksgiving-y, but perhaps some people eat them instead of turkey.

Dot Cookies

The dot cookies are some of my favorites!

I mentioned that my friend wanted to learn to make cookies. She made me promise that none of the ugly cookies would be seen by anyone so I picked out the prettier ones to photograph.

It was a lot of fun and she did great for her first time!

Cupcake cookies

While I was making the flower cookies I made these mini cupcake cookies.

I know I've seen other people make cupcake cookies on their blogs and likely took the design from someone, but can't remember which one. If you find something that looks like this somewhere else let me know.

Flower Cookies

My friend wanted to learn to make cookies and she mentioned she'd always wanted to try to make flower cookies like someone she knew. I had a lot of mini flower cutters so I thought I'd give it a shot before I tried to teach her anything.

In the end I made about a billion of these little suckers considering they were mini cookies and I couldn't stand the thought of making any more for a while. Maybe she can try these on her own and give me some pointers!

Mario Cookies

I come from a long line of gamers starting with my grandpa. I remember Frogger and Burger Time on Atari followed by the game that can tie most of us back to the earliest days, Super Mario Brothers on the original NES.

I saw pictures of a Mario cake one time and always thought I'd love to make that. Instead I took on the cookies. Maybe someday I will do the cake.

In shaping the cookies I used a circle and an egg shape for the mushrooms and shaped them by hand. They were actually my first attempt at royal icing decorating and I imagine I could make them look much better if I tried them again, but I was pretty happy with the overall result at the time.
