Annabelle Fairy Princess Shirt

Annabelle is having a fairy birthday party this year so I've made her a fairy princess shirt. I didn't end up adding the number to the shirt, but will send an iron on to mindy that she can use on something else if she wants. I thought I would leave this one open so it might last beyond her birthday next year since I bought it a size bigger.

This project took a while, but I think it turned out really well.  I'm sorry that I started with a black shirt for Audrey.

Graduation Necklace 2013

Graduation gift. Used red for the University color on the 2013 plate, but hard to see in the photo.

Graduating college in 2013... Freaks me out that it has now been 10 years since I graduated college myself. Getting old ahhhhhhhhh!!!

1st Birthday T-dress

I made this tshirt dress for my niece's first birthday. I wanted to try out the ink printing on black cloth. It turned out alright, but not what I really would have wanted for a birthday shirt.

Sparkly Crown Wall Art

My niece loves all things princess. When I visited for Thanksgiving we played princess at least 5 times each day. I have had this chip board crown since I got back from their house and just got around to finishing it up.

The sparklies say they shouldn't be eaten by anyone under 12. I guess those of us over 12 can chow down. Mindy don't let her gnaw on it.

Count Your Blessings

Second necklace which might end up as a charm anklet or bracelet. I'm not so sure on this one due to the size of the charms, but I think each piece is really cute.

My sister asked me to make some necklaces for grandmothers for Mother's day. My own mom won't wear jewelry or I'd make her all kinds of stuff!

April Fool's Cake

As leaders we decided it might be a good idea to issue an April Fool's Day challenge to our teams with a few rules to try to stave off more elaborate antics. One of the things our team decided to do was to gift a cake to our suspicious victims. Although there is nothing at all wrong with the cake we hope they will be too afraid to test it. After a few hours our team plans to head over and start cutting and eating their cake to show them that their fear was unfounded. 

I tried out some fancy frosting techniques, but decided something messy with the green disco dust looked a little more suspicious. The center is filled with raspberry preserves. I've also been trying out adjustments for high altitude and I think it's helping my cake texture a lot. 

Bedroom Makeover

On a whim I decided to do a makeover for the bedroom this weekend. There needed to be plenty of room for the new Ikea closet and I got a little carried away.

It actually came about so quickly that I didn't even think to take pictures of how I had the room set up before, but this shows the coloring of the room. Curtains were brown and a bright golden color. I had a tuscan painting with golds and reds and my bedding was brown, gold, and red.

New cabinet is in place! Nice and shiny. That couch has got to go. It will be replaced with a black or white leather sofa. Mo sleeps on it so white is probably the better choice considering his massive shedding problem. 

Lil Schu is really tired of being in the bedroom for the day.

This little alcove above the fireplace is wired for cable and all, but my tv doesn't fit. I have no idea what to do with this space.

It will be a very long time before I paint a room again. I first painted the walls and prayed that my tan ceiling would look ok with the gray paint. No go. I HATE painting ceilings. After all the trouble to make that room unique my beige walls are looking really good throughout the rest of the house.

Songbird

This is located in a dark hallway of the basement so the color makes me feel kind of sick in the photo. I didn't know how to fix it. Overall I'm not sure if I like this or not. I bought the birds about a year ago and had the idea to add the Songbird sheet music along with them. 

Will they stay or will they go? I don't know...
